The 2024 edition marked a significant milestone, with over 4,000 nominees from all regions of Uganda. This year, the event incorporated both physical and online nominations.

**Highlight Two** In 2024, ActionAid International Uganda was honoured by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Dev' for delivering critical services to GBV survivors through the GBV shelters, across the country. Since 2012, we have handled over 36,481 GBV cases.

We had a reflection meeting with war victims on the progress of the African Women Voices for Peace. Ritah, the Coordinator, noted that a baseline survey found out that only 51% of women have had a chance to participate in peace-building processes. Judith Neilson Foundation

There are several barriers to involvement of women in peace processes, including limited access to education, a patriarchal society, stigma, limited access to education Only 37% of women from conflict affected areas receive psychosocial support.
