This is total speculation on my part, but I wonder if Casey was influenced by one - or both - of the following possibilities. (a) She may have concluded that the ethnic and clan-based dimension of the grooming gangs scandal is far more significant than the mainstream media

I’m in Swansea for the next couple of days for the Narrative Criminology event. If anyone’s around and fancies getting a beer / coffee let me know.

I'm glad there will be an inquiry into Grooming Gangs I hope the survivors will be at the heart of it & those who didn't survive their families respected. Every police officer, politician social worker & teacher that did nothing or enabled this should be held to account.

Cooper confirmed that the government is going to change the law so that those who cover-up abuse will be prosecuted - but what about those who've covered it up over decades? They must face justice too.

Baroness Casey's review will make for tough reading for the likes of emily m (if she even bothers to), explicitly calling out how "flawed data is used repeatedly to dismiss claims about ‘Asian grooming gangs’ as sensationalised, biased or untrue", in her section on "Denial".

We finally have a table on perpetrators that even the people that don’t understand ‘per capita’ can grasp 16% of the population committing 35% of the crimes with 24% of the data missing

If there is a *proveable* Whitehall cover up, there must be individual criminal consequences for those who were trying to sweep a national child safeguarding catastrophe under the carpet. Not just shame, jail time. Nothing less meets the seriousness of such behaviour.
