Huge congratulations to Oscar H, who has just scored his first every century whilst playing for our U14A team against North Wales. He smashed 107 from 95 balls, with 13 fours and 2 sixes. A wonderful moment.

Congratulations to our U14 boys, who have just lifted the County Cup with victory over Thomas Adams. Howarth top scored with 59 as Shrewsbury hit 158 from their 20 overs, before our visitors fell 32 short, despite 80 from man of the match Langton. Well done to all involved.

Our U15 boys got their Clark-Williams Trophy campaign off to a winning start against Uppingham today. Bebb’s 5-56 was the key in limiting Uppingham to 214-8, before Jenkins (89*) and Athwal (61) chased the target down with 12.3 overs to spare.

The 1st XI boys got their Silk Trophy campaign off to a winning start with a magnificent performance against a strong Grey College touring side. Grindlay took 3-27 as the South Africans posted 266 all out before a fantastic chase. Ogilby 67 Hursthouse 65 Bolingbroke 54*

Centuries from Ogilby (139) and Grindlay (108) saw the 1st XI boys post 330-9 against Eton today. Vaughan claimed 5-66 in Eton’s reply, who despite 115 from Duguid fell 58 runs short in a magnificent game of cricket.

In the final game of the Silk Trophy, Shrewsbury have posted 331 for 7 from their 50 overs. Stowe have just begun their reply. During the 1st innings Ogilby hit 84, taking him past 1000 senior runs for the summer. Congratulations to him on a spectacular achievement.

The 1st XI boys defeated Stowe by 51 runs today, and in doing so claimed the Silk Trophy. 84 from both Ogilby and Grindlay and 54 from Hursthouse propelled the hosts to 331 before Vaughan claimed 4-58. An incredible 3 days to end a fine season. Congratulations, boys!

We also said goodbye to 3 departing members of the U6, with the Silk Trophy win a fitting swan song. Teix, Louis and Theo leave us having contributed a huge amount to the cricket programme, and we wish them every success as their time at Shrewsbury comes to an end.
