The announced changes to disability benefits will lead to very substantial falls in income for some families. While some families will gain a small amount from the changes, others will lose thousands of pounds a year.

The government’s proposals for restricting eligibility for disability and incapacity benefits will cause significant hardship for disabled people. There is still time for the government to make changes to these planned cuts before people across Shropshire are affected.

Life costs more for disabled people. And the costs are rising 📈 In 2025, disabled households would need an extra £1,095 per month to have the same standard of living as non-disabled households. This is called the #DisabilityPriceTag 💷

We applaud the power of disabled people, food banks and MPs, like Dr Marie Tidball, who have tirelessly used their voices to stand up for disabled people. 💚 Ahead of the final vote next week, we're encouraging MPs to ensure disabled people are protected from severe hardship.
