"Nonlocal Intrinsic Fracture Energy of Polymerlike Networks" appears in Physical Review Letters. We show that the intrinsic fracture energy of polymer-like networks is due to nonlocal dissipation, different from the classical Lake-Thomas model. journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1…

Big thanks to my PI Prof. Stephen Craig, and Dr. Yangju Lin! We successfully showed that the mechanochemical deconstruction can be achieved in the network by simply compressing it! Curious how we did it? Please check it out ⏬️

Wondering how to generate HF via force? Check out my latest paper of self-amplified mechanochemically HF release and cascaded degradable polymer J. Am. Chem. Soc.! Truly grateful for the support and collaboration with Dr. Ilia Kevlishvili from Prof. the Kulik Group, and Prof. The Jeremiah Johnson Group!

Our recent publication in PRX unveils a universal scaling law to predict the fracture energy of polymer-like networks. This discovery opens up possibilities for designing mechanical metamaterials with unprecedented fracture resistance. Chase Hartquist Shu Wang 王澍 Xuanhe Zhao
