It's not an everyday sight, but this is a dragonfly exuvia. This is the discarded exoskeleton of a dragonfly nymph, left behind after it transforms into its adult stage. It's quite a fortunate discovery. #insects #macrophotography #macro #wildlifephotography #wildlife #insects

Cuckoo Flower-Cardamine pratensis I found numerous plants in the damp meadows not far from me. It was wonderful to witness such an abundance of these exquisite and fragile blooms. And it has a look out posted on top!

Each year, these charming little Forget-Me-Nots establish themselves along the edges of the lake, infusing the area with a lovely shade of blue. I suspect they are Water Forget-Me-Nots, scientifically known as Myosotis scorpioides (I'm open to correction as I'm not an expert)

In the early hours of the morning, a lovely little flower was discovered perched on the edge of a pavement near a bypass, with the glow of car headlights visible in the distance.

As I traversed a meadow adorned with a gentle brook, an expanse of white enveloped my view. Lining the stream's course were numerous Hawthorn trees, each adorned with stunning white blossoms.

Come summer and the local lakes edge is dotted with Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) its nectar becomes a valuable food source for long-tongued insects, such as brimstone butterflies, red-tailed bumblebees and elephant hawk-moths.
