Today, during the JAXA's presentation at the CEOS workshop on biomass estimation from space data, Japan launched ALOS-4, and we were lucky to be together to see it online. It was a great way to open our workshop; congratulations to JAXA!

This week in Vanuatu! Food and Agriculture Organization - SEPAL, SilvaCarbon and the Vanuatu Department of Forest are looking at the use of satellite information for monitoring land cover change, and the consequential carbon emissions.

In September, Silvacarbon facilitated INFONA's participation in the Google for Good summits in Brazil and Ireland. We are grateful to partners like Google for making satellite data accessible to forested nations!

Silvacarbon and SERVIR Global are hosting the first meeting for a coordination group in Latin America. Peru, Guatemala, Ecuador, Belize, Paraguay and Colombia in a dialog with members of academia, USGS, GFOI and USFS to improve forest monitoring in their region.
