In this work by Mathieu Lewin, Luca Nenna and Simone Di Marino, an external Coulomb potential (with 6 nuclei and fractional charges) for which the ground state energy of electrons is NOT convex in the number of electrons is constructed for the first time. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…
