It’s been a great couple of days getting to know our 2020 CPM Traditional Owner Trainees. The trainees met their new colleagues and CITIC’s senior leaders over dinner and were given the full tour of Sino Iron, Australia’s biggest magnetite iron ore operation.

Year 12 graduating students from Karratha’s Clontarf Academy toured our Perth office this morning. CPM Chairman and CEO Chen Zeng personally briefed the students on the varied careers available at pit-to-port downstream processing operations such as Sino Iron.

Our Container Recycling Program’s a finalist in DWER WA's Waste Awards. Our objective - to recover and recycle most of the drink containers we use at site. Congrats to our fellow finalists in the Regional Waste category.

On Sunday we held a simple yet moving ANZAC Day ceremony at Sino Iron (100km south of Karratha). It’s the 2nd year we’ve held the commemoration with social distancing in place – but we were united in remembering with the bugle sounding out across a few locations at site.

We welcomed 98 family members to Sino Iron on Saturday for our Family Day -children, partners and parents aged from seven to 81 were treated to a tour that took them from the mine pit to processing and out to the port. Thank you to the many CPM volunteers who made it a great day!
