Our Year 12 English Literature students enjoyed the privilege of working with fellows of The Royal Literary Fund. This engaging workshop explored a range of academic writing skills, providing students with invaluable guidance and practice towards their A-Level coursework. #SHFGS

We were honoured to welcome our local MP, Laura Kyrke-Smith, and her Parliamentary Assistant, Harry Murgatroyd (former SHFGS student), to discuss culture and wellbeing. It was wonderful to see such energy and enthusiasm from everyone taking part! #SHFGS

Our annual Science Fair with neighbouring primary schools was a week of discovery and curiosity. Acting as mentors, our Year 9 students led our visitors through a series of hands-on science experiments demonstrating a wonderful collaboration of learning across the key stages!

Showing off their skills as budding chemists our year 12 students took part in The Royal Society of Chemistry Schools' Analyst competition. Working together applying their knowledge, each team demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment in a fun and rewarding way! Well done!

Year 9, 10 & 12 dance students took part in an all day workshop led by a professional choreographer from Motionhouse. They practised two-tiered lifts, building trust and confidence, along with full body conditioning. Everyone enjoyed a day of fun and dancing! Thank you, Harrison!

Last week students showcased their distinctive writing styles at our Creative Writing Exhibition. Led by Miss Keane it was a 'buzzing' sociable event including live readings of student works, enjoyed by proud teachers and parents alike! Well done to all involved! #SHFGS

SHFGS SUMMER CONCERT 2025

Thinking about their future careers, our Year 12 students attended a UCAS Discovery Day hosted by the University of Bedfordshire. A 'one-stop' event to explore all options, from university, apprenticeships, to other career paths. #SHFGS

Once again our Summer Concert at the Waterside Theatre was nothing short of brilliant!  A spectacular show filled with breathtaking performances by talented and passionate students, who had clearly worked incredibly hard. Huge congratulations to our students and staff!
