An amazing opportunity! Interesting and relevant work, alongside Miguel Arce Rentería. Mi gente check it out 👀

🚨New paper accepted in JAMA-IM: Six-year cognitive trajectory in older adults following major surgery and delirium Author team: Long Ngo, Ed Marcantonio, Doug Tommet, Yi Feng, Tamara Fong, Eva Schmitt, @tgt75, Rich Jones @rnjma, Sharon Inouye, MD

Huge thanks to @pbaJackson @kmgeorge_epi @lilahbesser and Ganesh Babulal for their leadership. What a group 🙌🏾 We use Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory to link structural/social determinants to Alzheimer’s disease & related dementia risk & outcomes. 👇🏾

Excited to share new work (w/ E Meza, Maria Glymour, Jackie Torres) using the @MHAS_ENASEM. Parental, own, and adult child educational attainment may have important implications for late-life cognitive trajectories! Read more here: doi.org/10.1093/aje/kw…

Amazing talk by Sirena Gutierrez at #SER2023, representing important aging work happening at UCSF Epidemiology & Biostatistics. TLDR; social policies intervening in adult children may have upwards “spillover” effects on their older parents, demonstrated by leveraging compulsory schooling laws as an IV

Had a great time at #SER2023, and was fortunate to present (really cool imho) work from my second year UCSF Epidemiology & Biostatistics in collaboration with Maria Glymour & Willa D Brenowitz!

New pub alert! Together with Jackie Torres (UC San Francisco), we asked how DACA eligibility among adult children influenced the health of their co-resident parents. We used @IPUMS NHIS data (2008-2015) and a difference-in-differences design. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11… /1
