The cover photo for the band's debut album Beginnings (as Ambrose Slade), was shot by Richard Stirlin at Pouk Hill in Walsall on a freezing cold day, not too far from where Noddy was then living. The shoot inspired the lyrics for the track Pouk Hill on the band's second album.

Recorded at the Philips studio at Stanhope Place in London, the album 'Beginnings' was released in the US, but under a very different title and artwork! The album with its original UK cover is being re-issued this month from the band's online store - slade.lnk.to/aarbeg
