This was the best news! I am so excited to announce that I was awarded the very competitive Mary Lugton Postdoctoral Research Fellowship University of Melbourne. This Fellowship will extend my PhD research investigating how we can improve clinician training in sleep and insomnia management 🙌

Based on this preprint, #sleep inertia (difficulty waking up) may explain the prior association of evening #chronotype with greater risk of #psychiatric conditions: Evening types _without sleep inertia_ were not at higher risk compared with morning types. #circadian

Healthy light & longevity. Excited to share our latest work in PNAS today. Personal light exposure patterns of ~88k individuals shows that bright nights and dark days longitudinally predict earlier mortality. Keep the days bright and the nights dark! doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2…

While in DC engaging in legislative advocacy for Project Sleep I was also being interviewed for a story by CNN! Huge thanks to Dr. Jen Mundt for bridging this opportunity (albeit an evolved topic from the start). #SleepPeeps cnn.com/2024/11/01/hea…

There is more to our motivations toward light than we’re aware. Our new study led by Malisa Burge shows a powerful motivation in humans toward this blue-enriched light: reducing negative thoughts of ourselves. Is this why we overlight our nights? doi.org/10.1093/sleep/…
