After midnight posting this view may land me in prison - so here goes: Yvette Cooper & the U.K. Government designating Palestine Action a terrorist organisation, based on the facts currently in the public domain, is bonkers.

Today, the government blocked the establishment of an independent, public inquiry into the UK’s complicity in genocide. This isn’t over. We will uncover the truth, and bring about justice for the Palestinian people. theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

To my arresting officers: Just know this—when we sit down for that interview, I will be calling you what you are: Schutzstaffel. Not in uniform, perhaps—but in purpose. You're not wearing Hugo Boss, but you are Schutzstaffel. And I want you to remember this moment—because one

The government's proscription of Palestine Action came into force at midnight last night. It is now illegal to express support for the group under the Terrorism Act 2000. But Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper can't change what I believe. Classifying a direct action protest group

It’s illegal to say I support Palestine Action. So I definitely won’t ever say I support Palestine Action because if I did say I support Palestine Action, I could go to prison. You shouldn’t say I support Palestine Action.

The bullshit tornado fires up. This is of course libellous, but it's also an indication of how simply terrified our establishment are of a democratic party of the left. They won't get away with it this time. People have noticed. #ItWasAScam

It took about 3 weeks for my petition to be published by the UK Government, I complied with the wording changes they proposed. It went live on 30th June, and now has +5000 signatures. The deadline for signing is 30th December 2025. At 10,000 signatures, the government will

This is fair comment & sadly a typical form of language regularly used by men of the far right towards women on here, it's used to slap us down & silence. They like to be seen as respectful protectors of women but their linguistics never fail to give their true character away.

If the case against 16-year-olds voting is that most of them don't pay taxes, then there is an obvious case for removing the vote from 75-year-olds. Indeed, as most 16-year-olds will pay taxes in the future but most 75-year-olds won't, there is arguably a stronger case.

Clayton Burns Jonathan Fine I’d argue that having kids read classics Jane Eyre isn’t going to encourage non-readers to start reading for fun because kids these days do not find those classics fun or relatable. We need to have them read contemporary writing even if it’s not as ā€œacademic.ā€

This. To encourage extensive reading, the content has to be engaging and the language easily accessible. Fwiw I do use classic texts in my class, just in easier format- Poe, Dickens, and not classic but Orwell.
