Endlich wieder mehr Präsenzveranstaltungen! 😀 Heute #BNUR Infotag bei Rieckens Landmilch, SH. Hier wird tolle Pionierarbeit geleistet. Zu sehen gab es vielfältige #Agroforstsysteme. Hier im Bild eine Futterlaubhecke TRIEBWERK Agroforst & Regenerative Landwirtschaft. Gut für die Tiere und unser Klima. 🌿🍁🍂
Discuss peer reviewing, open access publishing, how to choose the right journal, when to contact editors, and many many more topics with great editors! Next Tuesday #DBG22 @DBG_Soils #lunchbreak event (food provided). Organized together with Sophie Drexler, Dr. Jeroen H. T. Zethof & Marcus Schiedung.
Congratulations to Florian Schneider (Thünen-Institut) & Hans-Jörg Vogel (UFZ) on their outstanding scientific accomplishment ‚ just awarded the Fritz Scheffer Award and the Emil Ramann medal at #DBG22 @DBG_Soils. Great laudatory speech by Andrea Carminati (2nd image)!
Flower power against climate change 🌻! Great work of Laura Harbo and Thünen-Institut colleagues suggests that flower strips on temperate cropland can, besides many other benefits, accumulate 0.5 Mg #soil C/ha/yr... link.springer.com/article/10.100…
Gelungene Übersicht über die Anforderungen an die zukünftige Landnutzung von Prof.Isermeyer vom TI Thünen-Institut auf dem strategischen Forum der @DAgrarFA in Berlin.
Happy to share another important work: Looking for a potential upper limit of mineral-associated #carbon in thoroughly selected German agricultural #soil with up to 12% SOC, we Thünen-Institut couldn't find any. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…
🚨New paper🚨 Planting 193,000 km of hedges by 2050 in England as recommended by Climate Change Committee could sequester 4.5% of annual CO2 emissions from agriculture for the next 40 years 🗏authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S00… Read thread below for more details ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Very happy to share my first paper, published in SUM! We investigated the variability of additional SOC stocks from hedges in agricultural soils and the influence of soil properties, land management and hedge characteristics on this variability. bsssjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…
How does the Defra UK goal of planting +72,500 km of hedges compare to Climate Change Committee +193,000 km goal for climate change mitigation? One of these few great papers where #soilorganiccarbon stocks, litter, aboveground & #root biomass were measured simulteanously. Well done Sophie Drexler @Thuenen_SOM !
