Guru Ram Das Ji was an inspirational man! The Sikh Marriage ceremony (Anand Karaj) is based around a four stanza hymn known as the laava. Guru Ram Das Ji wrote the laava, also he designed the Golden temple (Harimander Sahib)!

In the Guru Granth Sahib Ji it says, “One who works for what he eats, and gives some of what he has in charity O Nanak! He knows the path!” Never forget the Sikh principle of Daswandh, which is to give 10% of your earnings to charity!

It has been 40 years today since the kurbani (sacrifice) of the 13 strong Singhs who left their wife’s and children on the 13th April 1978. While peacefully protesting these pure innocent souls were brutally murdered. Now people are thinking about it the most - by MK aged 8

In 1699 Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked for 5 people who were willing to sacrifice their head for Guru Ji. 5 brave men offered their lives and soon afterwards they became known as the Panj Pyare or the ‘5 beloved ones’. #Legends #panjpyare

The king who said if you want to follow the path and become my Sikh, I will make you the master and become your follower. These were not just mere words as we know on Vaisakhi Day in 1699 Guru Ji did just that and become the true example, they didn’t just say it, they lived it!

Whilst #Vaisakhi is a joyous and happy occasion, it is also important to remember the revolutionary significance of this day. Vaisakhi marks the Birth of the Khalsa ( Order of the Pure Ones) which has defined Sikhi and our beliefs to this day!! #rt
