Really fascinating work by Olivia Dahl and Naomi Lawson Jacobs naomijacobs.bsky.social at #CDS24. Olivia used poetry as a powerful creative tool to gather perspectives of people with cerebral palsy. Naomi’s research from their PhD was about disabled Christians and the exclusion they face from churches.

This week I’m at the Inclusive Public Space conference, which is exploring research findings on access to public space in five countries (Kenya, India, the Netherlands, the US, the UK). There’s a real international focus across the panels, practical workshops and presentations.

“This is not the end. It’s the end of the conference, but… it’s the beginning of the rest of the work we have to do” - Anna Lawson’s closing remarks to the Inclusive Public Space Conference this afternoon.

Plenary talk from Sonia Lavadinho on moving from functional cities to relational cities. She passionately spoke about the need to create spaces that invite everyone from centenarians to babies in order to build sustainable communities for future generations. #Walk21Portugal

Attendees of #Walk21Portugal had the opportunity to experience our VR videos which show the journeys taken by some of our participants. Sofia and Nadia Voigt da Mata facilitated the sessions during the breaks. Great to see such interest in making spaces accessible!
