Our Lisbon Conference on non-conviction based forfeiture kicks off! National authorities in Lusophone countries, including Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Timor-Leste, are coming together for 3 days to explore the potential of civil confiscation laws to recover illicit assets.

Speaking alongside our Head of Latin America Oscar Solorzano, expert Stefan Casella said: "Non-conviction based forfeiture plays a critical role in reinforcing a criminal justice system and a country's anti-corruption framework."

Day 3 of the Lisbon Conference on non-conviction based forfeiture is underway. Participants from our Lusophone partner countries are learning about #Peru's experiences using its NBCF law extinción de dominio in successful #assetrecovery cases. Thx US Dept of State INL for supporting.
