Two days packed of exciting research on RNA in cancer during the 30th Porto Cancer Meeting! Big thanks to the invited speakers: M. Carmo-Fonseca, Carmen Jerónimo, Raúl Mendez, Anne Willis, Lucilla Fabbri, Jørgen Kjems, Vinod BalachandranMD, Kamil R Kranc, @MFryeLab, Sonenberg Lab! 1/2

Proud to recognize McGill University professor Dr. Nahum Sonenberg, the world's leading researcher in the field of protein synthesis and translational control, with an honorary degree at Spring 2024 Convocation. ulethbridge.ca/unews/article/…

Congratulations to our amazing mentor on receiving an honorary degree from ULethbridge ! Your groundbreaking work in mRNA translation continues to inspire us all.

Starting today’s first session and keynote of RMedI symposium on #RNA regulation & engineering is McGillRNA’s own Nahum Sonenberg Lab giving an overview of his discoveries on cap binding proteins and translation regulation.

Dr. Nahum Sonenberg was awarded an honorary degree (Doctor of Science) by ULethbridge on May 31, 2024 (youtube.com/live/djt3UO6n2…). It was our great pleasure to host Dr. Sonenberg at UofL. Congratulations Nahum. @UofLArtsci Sonenberg Lab McGill University

Congratulations to our #CMHFLaureate Dr. Nahum Sonenberg for receiving a Doctor of Science, honoris causa from the University of Lethbridge. 👏👏👏 ow.ly/WNBu50S7oYi Sonenberg Lab

Congratulations to GCI researchers Heather Melichar Melichar Lab, Nahum Sonenberg Sonenberg Lab, Guojun Chen Guojun Chen and William Muller. Félicitations à nos chercheur.euse.s !

We're thrilled to host Gairdner Foundation awardees Dr. Nahum Sonenberg Sonenberg Lab, 2008 for his work on mRNA translational control; Dr. Lynne Maquat Maquat Lab, 2015 for her work on nonsense mediated decay of mRNA; and Dr. Pieter Cullis, 2022 for his work on lipid nanoparticles

Dr. Sonenberg Lab will participate in a public session describing the history of RNA research in Canada. It will take place on Wednesday, Oct 2nd in a session lasting from 14:45 to 17:10. #RNACanadaARN 2024.

Congrats to our PhD student Reese Ladak on his exciting new work in @PNASnews. Reese and team show that 4EHP manipulates the antiviral response against DNA viruses by affecting translation of the DNA sensor protein cGAS. pnas.org/doi/abs/10.107…

Congratulations to our #CMHFLaureate Daniel J Drucker - the first to identify the actions of GLP-1 and GLP-2, enabling medicines for diabetes, obesity and intestinal disorders - for receiving the Frontiers of Knowledge Award 👏👏👏 utoronto.ca/celebrates/dan… Temerty Medicine

Exciting work from our lab! Huge shoutout to Michael Bellucci and Mehdi Amiri for contributions to this study. Check out the preprint on bioRxiv! 👇
