Coach Mines on how he’s coached Ayden Greene this offseason . Says there is “no question” Greene is the leader of the WR room.

Coach Mines on Devin Alves’ transition to WR. Coach Pry highlighted Alves earlier in camp saying he had one of the best practices he’s seen out of a receiver at VT.

Mines said Tennessee transfer Cam Seldon struggled initially at WR after playing RB for two years with the Vols. Credits Hokie legend Cam Phillips with getting Seldon acclimated.

Coach’s eyes lit up when I asked him about the return of Tucker Holloway. Noted his abilities as a “security blanket” in the return game.

Coach Mines says there are “7 or 8 guys” that he trusts to go play right now. Noted that they have options in the slot with Tayke Heath, Seldon, and Isaiah Spencer, who can also play outside.

WR Ayden Greene on being looked up to as a leader

Greene on new offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery. On the new offense he says “everyone will see real soon what we’re about”

ECU transfer CB Isaiah Brown-Murray on what led him to Virginia Tech, a decision that almost felt like fate.

Despite the big week 1 matchup, IBM said the Hokies weren’t looking ahead South Carolina all camp, says the focus was “to be where our feet are.” Obviously, he says VT is deep into SC prep now.

IBM brings positional versatility to the D Block, playing both outside and nickel. He says nickel was a bit of an adjustment for him, since it was a new position. Now he feels comfortable and says “it’s been pretty fun.”
