So excited to to share our lab's photosensitizer proximity labeling platform, POCA, which combines Janelia Fluors (thanks @rhodamine110!) with HaloTag and cholesterol-based probes to define the intracellular cholesterol interacting proteome. Congrats to Andrew Becker and team!

Check out this new work by Keriann Backus and team, such a cool approach to probing membrane interactions. I am very excited to see what this technology platform will uncover. Already thinking endothelial cells!

I am thrilled to announce that I just got awarded an 2025-2026 AHA postdoctoral fellowship from AHA Science which will support my study at Department of Medicine at UCLA Health Julia Mack lab. Plaques inside the coronary arteries sometimes break open or "rupture." This is what causes most 🫀heart attacks. When a plaque breaks open, it causes a blood clot to form inside the artery. As the clot grows, it can completely block off the flow of blood through the artery.

Does exercise regress plaque? Exercise intervention studies have shown reductions of vulnerable plaque by about 3% and reductions in overall plaque volume by almost 11%. /14
