Uncovering the lost history of the Kurds requires many keys. My book combines deep historical analysis with a powerful one: the Kurdish language itself, a living link to ancient civilizations. "The Lost and Untold History of the Kurds" is out now. amazon.com/Lost-Untold-Hi…

This 1076 world map, by Turkish scholar Mahmud al-Kashghari, distinctly marks 'Ardh al-Akrad' (land of the Kurds/Kurdistan) and the Turkic peoples located beyond Afghanistan. The descendants of these Turkic tribes, now in the Middle East, deny Kurdistan's historical existence.

Remembering Kurdish intellectual, writer & journalist Musa Anter (1920-1992), murdered at 72 on 20/9/1992 by Turkish gov. JITEM. He famously told the Turkish gov: 'If my mother tongue is shaking the foundations of your state, it probably means that you built your state on my land

Tom Barrack’s promotion of a 'law of the jungle' worldview is built on alarming ignorance. His claim that Arabic has no word for 'submission' is patently false—the language has several. This isn't just a factual error; it's the justification for a dangerous mindset.Ambassador Tom Barrack

From real estate to ancient geopolitics? Reducing the Middle East to 'tribes and villages' is certainly the real estate way to untangle the complexity of the region. @USEmbassyTurkey

Syria, a state formed by colonial powers post-WWI with a colonial name. A former terrorist, al-Sharaa, has been installed, imposing a narrow vision on its diverse people. The exclusion of Kurdish Nawroz from 13 official holidays exemplifies this. A unified Syria is not possible!

Turkish-backed mercenaries in Syria attacking the Kurdish neighborhoods of ashrafiya and Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo. This man is wearing a "PRESS" vest while carrying a pistol. This is a typical example of mercenaries disguising themselves as journalists. #Syria #Aleppo

This is North Kurdistan under Turkish occupation. Watch as Turkish forces subject a young Kurdish child to a humiliating and frightening search on their own land. #Kurdistan #Turkey #HumanRights #ChildrensRights

The Turkish government should lay down its weapons; its history shows a pattern of massacres and aiding ISIS. SDF's weapons, however, are permanent—they have fought ISIS, and defend diverse peoples against terrorist aggression and Turkish mercenaries.

Turkey's policy is to fuel the fire in Syria. After its border enabled ISIS's rise, it rebranded the extremists into the SNA. Now, it uses them to sabotage any peace talks between the SDF & Damascus, locking the region in a state of perpetual war.
