A strong turnout for the Chalkwell Ramp public meeting. Southend-on-Sea City Council must get emergency access sorted ASAP and then a permanent replacement constructed. Visitors to Southend will be affected this summer, but residents are affected every day, unable to get to the station.

📰Chalkwell Ramp news! 📰 The contract for demolishing the current ramp and constructing a temporary structure to allow access was approved last night at the Southend-on-Sea City Council Cabinet meeting. Chalkwell Councillors continue to press for a permanent solution to be delivered ASAP.

I just want my son to have a school place, to be able to get a doctor’s appointment, and for my city to not be gridlocked. Therefore I identify as a banana! 🍌 There needs to be a sensible, cross party convo about housing, not secrete submissions to government for a new town!
