At the start of this month essential maintenance works began on the North Bridge to replace some of the mechanisms of the steel structure that has weakened over time, and complete maintenance on the hydraulic lifting system. The project is on schedule to finish in three weeks.

Last month local residents and berth holders braved the cold weather and donned their houses and boats in festive lights for Sovereign Shines 2020 which raised over £500 for the local RNLI lifeboat and Defiant Sports. Did you see the beautiful displays?

Please be advised our annual maintenance programme starts on Lock 2 from Monday 1st March 2021. The lock will be shut for approx. 5 weeks whilst Lock 1 will remain fully operational. The pedestrian walkways surrounding Lock 2 will be closed on the first and last day of the works.
