One day factory farming will meet the same fate as greyhound racing and dog fighting, cockfighting, and bear-baiting before it: Slow decline ... then state and national bans ... then disbelief that we ever let people treat animals this way.

Over 100 million US birds have now been killed to stop the spread of bird flu, including 15M in the last month. They've been killed by perhaps the most inhumane method ever invented. And we have the federal government -- and our taxes -- to thank for it...

Big news for beans🌱 As part of the '25 US Dietary Advisory Committee, we recommended putting beans, peas, & lentils at the top of MyPlate's protein section instead of meat. Why? They have protein, fiber, and no saturated fat. Small swap, big impact! cnn.com/2024/12/12/hea…

Reminder: Myers-Briggs personality types (e.g. 'INTJ' or 'ESPF') are outdated, unreliable, crude, silly, not-very-predictive pseudo-science, based on WWII-era Jungian psychoanalytic ideas. The Big Five personality traits (discovered in the 1980s) are far superior in almost

Incredible 3D visualization of a human embryo in the fifth week of life. Note the tail and fishlike appearance. All vertebrate embryos look roughly like this; we start from the same place, then diverge as we develop. Humans are modified fish.

If we're going to settle Mars, we'll want cultivated meat -- there's no enough water or space for factory farming. Yet RFK, Ron DeSantis, and others are threatening to ban it, stopping all American innovation in the space. Will Elon Musk stop them?

The meat industry worked hard to remain relevant in 2024. Its main tool? Disinformation. Sentient’s Jessica Scott-Reid, M.A. looks back at Big Meat’s manipulative messaging.

Most replies to Tyson's post are like "cool, don't care." I think many would feel differently if they saw the state of some of these animals when they go to slaughter. Broken wings, unable to walk, covered in blisters and manure... Here's a photo I took on one factory farm.

10 years ago, an article discussing the ethical basis for using rat birth control instead of poison - and a city representative mentioning PETA with regard to this - would not have been a very likely thing. And yet, today: abc7ny.com/post/people-ne…

My argument against smart people rationalizing ignoring animal cruelty based on the naturalistic fallacy: 1) Theft and murder are completely normal in nature. 2) If humans are separate from nature, then we can follow better morals than the law of the jungle.

This is appalling. It’s also near identical to most US pig factories. The only innovation is multi-stories. The crates were invented here in the US. We need to end them here too.
