Can't wait for Possibility Studies Network Conference next week at Cambridge University. I'll be sharing brand new research on silencing technologies, bone records, hidden clubs, and the infamous sound system wars. #ScienceHistory #ColdWar #PossibilityStudies See y'all soon. 💀 Spectres & Camouflage

It's been a great start to the Possibility Studies Network Conference at Cambridge University. We shared new work on possibilities created by acoustic measurement and control, from spectres of war to revolutions on the dance floor. Tomorrow we visit the Churchill Archives Centre. Stay tuned 👀

We had a lovely time visiting the Whipple Library and discussing the silent environment through the ages. Thanks again to their brilliant staff for all of their help!

Coming back from presenting on the theme of #silence and marginalisation in Ireland, in #EASST4S2024 yesterday. A truly inspiring panel with Dr Amelia McConville Amy Fahy and Sadhbh Crean, organised by Dr. Autumn Brown Spectres & Camouflage University College Dublin

Publishing in September, this is a ground-breaking account of the British scientists and architects who pioneered acoustics in the 20th century. Perfect for fans of Jude Rogers 💙, kate molleson, Alex Ross & Dr Leah Broad. 'Pistols in St Paul's' is available to pre-order now.

From Zurich to Cambridge, London to Amsterdam, its been an incredible summer of research, conferences, and writing for the Spectres and Camouflage Project. Funded by European Research Council (ERC) You can learn more about our work, and our team at: spectres-camouflage.com

This was great fun to review - I’d very much recommend Fiona Smyth’s latest work, “Pistols in St Paul's: Science, Music, and Architecture in the Twentieth Century”! #sound #acoustics #architecture #building #stpauls St Paul's Cathedral #cathedral #music #science #london #history

#GoodMorningDublin Michael is going to be telling us 'whats the story' behind this Noel & #LiamGallagher reunion and a history of #Oasis. Muraed CeolagusCraic spoke with Fiona Smyth, author of Pistols in St. Paul's. Fiona Smyth is an Associate Professor at #UCD. Tune in!

Our #justnoisepod team traveled to #Cambridge to interview Dr Fiona Smyth Spectres & Camouflage about #silence, room acoustics... and the "gravitas of seaweed" 😉 - stay tuned for an upcoming episode, and get her book while you can! #PistolsInStPauls Manchester University Press
