There have recently been a number of thefts from vehicles on the west side. Vehicle owners are reminded to always lock vehicles and remove valuable contents. In all cases of these recently reported thefts, the vehicles were left unlocked.

Last month, Speedway Schools student Zoey Watson was given a special award by the Speedway PD in recognition of her efforts to create change by mentoring Speedway students to bridge the gap between her peers and Speedway Police Department. Well done Zoey. We appreciate you!

This morning, Sherry Wuertley was recognized as the Speedway PD Employee of the Quarter for 2023 Q2. A plaque and gift card donated by Indiana Memorial Funeral Care were presented to Wuertley. Thank you for your service Sherry and congratulations on this accomplishment.

The August 14th Police Commissioners meeting has been cancelled. The next meeting will be September 11, 2023 at 10:30 PM.

Today, Speedway Police Department recognized Code Enforcement Officer Joe Kramer for completing 10 years of service in the Code Enforcement Division for the Town of Speedway. Earlier this year, Kramer completed 42 years of total service for the Town. Congratulations on your achievement Joe!

Congratulations Officer Carter Pell for graduating the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy this evening. Officer Pell will return to patrol duties next week in the Town of Speedway.
