“Although symptoms of mercury poisoning include loss of hair and depression, I decided that those were just a normal hazard of graduate study.” A hidden gem in C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News) cendigitalmagazine.acs.org/2022/08/08/rea… I hope these graduate school hazards have been remediated 😷

"Workshops that aim to teach women how to dress, speak, advocate for themselves or ‘lean in’ ignore the real issue: it is not women who are broken, but the systems which place unfair and unnecessary barriers in their path." Nature Chemistry nature.com/articles/s4155…

Electrochemistry cover story in C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News)🤓⚡️

The Department of Chemistry was thrilled to have Prof. Daniel Nocera of Harvard University visit our department for the 2021-2022 Edward Clark Lee Memorial Lectureship on "The Global Energy Challenge: Food and Fuel from Thin Air, Any Water, and the Sun." Harvard Chemistry Anna Wuttig

Delighted to share my lab's 1st paper UChicago Chemistry out today in J. Am. Chem. Soc. ! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…. Can we modify any electrode irrespective of its surface chemistry? We discover that non-covalent self-assembly can do this! Congrats to Deepak Badgurjar , Madison, @Masters11Ben!

My lab's 2nd paper is out in Nature Catalysis! What is happening at the electrified interface during electroorganic reactions? Here is our first taste of revealing how it's organized to enable fragment-based electrophile coupling! w QC, Sarah, Rocco nature.com/articles/s4192…

Thank you, NSF, for a CAREER Award, and thank you, UChicago Chemistry , for highlighting and supporting it-- my group and I are so excited to advance our science with this generous award!!

One last paper to share (for a bit), this time from a fun collaborative CD4DC effort with Gagliardi Group, @gagliardi8, Anna Wuttig, Andrea (Power) Darù, Špela Kunstelj, Jenny G. Vitillo, and more. Congrats to first-author Ningxin Jiang on a nice study! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…
