Thank you very much to Peterhouse Cambridge Master, Prof. Andy Parker for letting Historic England East of England staff visit the incredible Grade I lodge. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the house next to portraits of its earliest residents.


A fantastic visit with Department for Culture, Media and Sport Director General Ruth Hannant yesterday in Leeds visiting New Briggate #HSHAZ and discussing the importance of partnership working in place. Joined by Leeds City Council, Leeds Civic Trust, East Street Arts, and enjoyed visiting Leeds Grand Theatre🎭


Today Historic England is celebrating 17 remarkable historic buildings and places newly listed this year. From an innovative 'bungalow maternity ward' to a Brutalist 'church above the shops', we encourage you to visit some of these wonderful protected places in the New Year!


Celebrating four heritage projects receiving £16.2m from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport Cultural Development Fund, including £3.5m for Harmony Works, where GII* listed Canada House will host youth music education, and £2.7m for Tropicana, with the help of Historic England expertise 🙌

So many lessons from working with over 60 high streets during our four year High Street Heritage Action Zone project with Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov Department for Culture, Media and Sport and we have brought them together in one place to help others successfully deliver heritage led economic & social regeneration. A fantastic evening celebrating Historic England's 10 year anniversary! There was a real buzz to the night, and it was great to see so many MPs, Lords, and peers from across the heritage sector engaging in really valuable conversations.
