Sudha Balagopal Karma waits for you at the corner of the gully. Karma follows you to the bazaar. Karma pops up as your screensaver. Karma bleeds out of your clothes. Karma freezes the water and you cut your hand. Karma wedges itself between you and your lover. #9forNavaratri

Karma is a bi**h. Yes, sirree, it certainly is. Else why would he, who broke the hearts of hundreds of girls all over the world, have his heart broken by a nerdy virgin from a podunk town? #9ForNavaratri

#9forNavaratri She’d play Karma Chameleon on loop every day until her mother wd beg her to stop. ‘It’s selfish to hog the airwaves in a 1-bed flat.’ She now lives in a mansion. Everyone shut in their rooms. No music. No chatter. She longs for the crush & noise of her childhood.

Amu sneaked Ma’s gold-plated watch for the class picnic. To show off. ‘You’re to blame—too trusting of maids.’ Baba accused Ma the next morning. ‘Ten years! Loved her like my own-unbelievable- must be my karma!’ Ma lamented; eyes wet with hurt. Amu kept silent. #9forNavaratri

I guess to some she could be a sign of bad karma, a looming omen of the future, a judgement for the past. But to me she is a sign of good karma, a dear friend who is full of joy and wonder, who has brought delight to my life. Perhaps it's just about perspective. #9forNavaratri

#9forNavaratri Day 9 – Karma Rejecting girl after girl until he found one rude enough to complain about a pea placed under twenty layers of bedding? Well, maybe he excused himself by blaming his mother for making that decision. Either way, that prince deserved everything he got.

When the doctor injected anesthesia, I muttered a small prayer. Before my eyes closed, I saw a shadowy silhouette of a woman on a lion on the wall, her several hands holding various weapons. I instantly knew the surgery would be successful. #9forNavaratri

Leaves rustle, wind sings, sand swirls, rises, softly at first, but soon catches up, grows bigger, wider, stronger before dispersing and settling in contours outlining a face, arms with a Trishul jutting out, and our throbbing hearts settle while our lips curl. #9forNavaratri
