Today, we remember Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation. We learned about Stephen & discussed how we can ‘live our best lives & make ordinary extraordinary’- by spreading love&kindness, standing up for what is right & being anti-racist. We will help his legacy live on by driving change. #stephenlawrence

This week,we remembered our Holy Father, Pope Francis.He has been a guiding light for us all, a shepherd who led with compassion, humility& a deep love for God’s people.We pray his work will continue to inspire our children to live for others & be happy. May he rest in peace🕊️

Year 1 had an amazing trip to the Florence Nightingale Museum today! 🏥✨ The children loved learning about her inspiring legacy and how she changed nursing forever. A truly memorable and educational experience! Thank you! Florence Nightingale Museum 💙

Year 1 & 2 visited St Peter & the Guardian Angel Church for the Year of Jubilee. As Pilgrims of Hope, we prayed together & listened to Fr. speak about spreading faith, joy & trust in God. A beautiful time to reflect & grow in faith. #PilgrimsOfHope

Today our children prayed for our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. They were so happy & proud to be able to pray for the new leader of our Catholic family. We ask that God grants him wisdom, courage & grace to lead our Church with a servant's heart. May the Holy Spirit guide him🙏

Our wonderful governors were on a teaching & learning visit in the afternoon & visited a Year 1 DT lesson. The children were making Jamaican banana fritters! The governors got to witness first-hand the excitement & enthusiasm from the children.They were very impressed!

Congratulations to our children in Years 3,4&5 who made their First Holy Communion today in St Peter and the Guardian Angels Church. Miss Ropiak, Mrs Bartley & Mrs McLoughlin were incredibly proud of them. May this special day bring them joy&may God's love be with them always 🤍

Our Year 1 children had a fantastic time making jerk chicken in DT! They explored new flavours, followed a recipe step by step, and loved tasting their delicious creation. A wonderful blend of cooking and Caribbean culture! 🍗

Year 5 attended the unveiling of the Information Board for the Metropolitan Water Trough in Canada water.They recited a poem&celebrated with others in Southwark Park. This was made memorable by the presence of the Mayor of Southwark,Councillor Sunny Lambe, who unveiled the trough

This week, we invited Parents to drop in and read with their children in The Woodlands Library. It was so lovely to see so many parents join us over the week and it was wonderful to see how happy the children were to share a storybook with their parents at school!

Year 1 led us in a beautiful Prayer&Liturgy to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi: the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. This feast reminds us of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist&calls us to live in communion with Him&one another through His example of love.

It was a joy to welcome Directors of Education, Headteachers & teachers from the South Australian Catholic Education Study Tour & Pilgrimage today!They were so impressed with our school but especially our fabulous children's knowledge, behaviour & confidence. St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust
