Year 5 have been completing their parachute investigation in Science. The investigation raised lots of scientific thinking, such as how does hot air make a difference, what if it was a hot day, would it make the parachutes fall faster or slower?

Today, we had an OPAL assembly. We learnt about the new and exciting things that will be coming to our playground. Today, Miss Markwell introduced table tennis bats and balls into the playground and they were a great success! Thank you Miss Markwell!

The children really enjoyed junk modelling day, where they re-purposed old items into something new and exciting! There were aeroplanes, gardens and even a small house!

On Tuesday, Ava and Dottie led a Collective Worship about Cyber-bullying. They organised a powerpoint with music, questions, helpful hints and videos for St Saviour's to enjoy! Well done Ava and Dottie (and thank you to Miss Drake for supporting the girls with this).

Mrs Eachus led a surprise reward session for Year 5's who have been lunch monitors for Term 3. They had hot chocolate, biscuits and a bonus play for showing integrity in signing up and supporting lunch staff in the hall at lunch-time. A huge thank you to Mrs Eachus and Year 5.

Year 5 designed 'support balloons' that recorded who they share their voice with, who helps and supports them. They also designed class banners promoting and considering wellbeing.

We have had a fantastic wellbeing week! We have learnt from parents about eating a healthy diet, belly breathing, more about our bones and joints, sensory processing and regulation. Huge thanks to everyone who gave up their time and made our wellbeing week so wonderful!

The creative ideas and thought that has gone into Year 5's extended homework projects has blown Mr Carter and Miss Drake away and it has been wonderful hearing how the children got on and what they learnt when they shared their work with their class!

This week, we have been using materials to create larger pieces of artwork and trying some finger knitting with wool. We've also been enjoying some table tennis too!

On Monday, we visited St Saviour's Church. Children from across the school shared an Easter blessing, Easter acrostic poem and Easter prayer, and we sung some great songs too.

The children did a phenomenal job at Dance Umbrella yesterday, representing the school so well. Mrs Brunton said her year 3 and 4 group absolutely smashed it! Huge well done to all of the dancers, and to Mrs Brunton who taught the dance and supported the children on the night.
