Infusions are an essential part of treatment for many patients, but they can require a lot of adjustment and preparation! 🔧 We love this informative post by Stacey Collins, MA,RDN/LD (she/her) that details some strategies for making infusion days smoother. Check out her account for more tips!

posting to lament the fact that my patient was told by a doctor to avoid fruit "because it makes stool acidic" and instead "go across the street for a multivitamin infusion". I'll be playing in traffic if you need to find me.

Malnutrition awareness week! Nearly 90% of pts in IBD remission* still eliminating foods, so let's educate + encourage pts to unfollow accounts who promote food fear + blame pts for their disease *Godala M, et al. Dietary Behaviors & Beliefs in Patients w/ IBD. J Clin Med. 2023

Still malnutrition awareness week! Someone w/ newly dx UC recently lost >20% of their body wt unintentionally in <3 months + was told that diet didn't matter! They had to find an RD on their own google search after being scared from forums. It doesn't have to be this way.

asked a person today in session what changed their mind about trying meds, and they credited the work of Natalie Hayden and Beatriz Gros You two may have saved their life! Thank you for doing GOOD on social media 🫶

Ah yes. another male patient denied another iron infusion because they "aren't menstruating", even though their saturation is <20% and they're taking naps in their car on their lunch break. It doesn't have to be this waYyyY
