In 2023, MA collected ~$15.7 million from a $0.20 per-ride assessment on each trip that started in-state.  Municipalities receive half of this amount based on the number of rides that started in their communities. The rest is distributed to the Commonwealth’s Transportation Fund.

.Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities’s Order 20-80 made history by requiring utilities to prioritize electrification. With the new Office of Energy Transformation & Advisory Board, we're ready to execute this vision. Ending reliance on costly, dirty fossil fuels and centering our ratepayers & communities.
