Here is a valuable decision support tool for older people with COVID. It relies on an assessment of frailty using CFS and a frank discussion of goals of care — 2 things Emerg docs need to incorporate into every assessment.CAEP Howard Ovens @thomringer ACEP Geriatric Sect

Excellent talk SAEM #SAEM22 from Jessica Stanich of Mayo Clinic Emergency Medicine regarding delirium and fall risk, found that 88% of falls in patients 75+ had #delirium. How do we better identify high risk pts in the #EmergencyDepartment?
ED #delirium associated with higher 30 day mortality in #geriatric patients. Maybe we should call #delirium acute brain failure, it is clearly a huge prognosticator in the ED. Thank you Lucas Oliveira J. e Silva (Lucas Silva)! Mayo Clinic Emergency Medicine Jessica Stanich @mfbellolio #SAEM22 SAEM
