No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, all Americans should be horrified by the senseless violence that occurred in Minnesota today. We cannot allow political violence to be normalized in this country. My heart breaks for the victims & families of this targeted attack.

A lifelong advocate for Staten Island, Ralph Lamberti was a prolific public servant & devoted family man who dedicated his life to the betterment of our beloved borough. His passing is an immeasurable loss & my deepest condolences are with his wife Susan & the Lamberti family.

Today, we proudly celebrate the U.S. Army for 250 years of unwavering service, sacrifice & strength. Since June 14, 1775, the Army has bravely defended the values upon which this great nation was founded. We owe a profound debt of gratitude to all those who have worn the uniform.

Our court officers work each & every day to maintain order & keep all those who interact with our criminal justice system safe. Violence perpetrated against them is utterly unacceptable. Praying that each of these heroic officers make a fast and full recovery!

Finishing 18-4, Monsignor Farrell's Lacrosse team capped off a storybook season, winning 4 straight city championships! Earlier today, I was honored to congratulate these extraordinary athletes alongside proud parents, Head Coach Lyman & Staten Island Borough President Vito J. Fossella at Borough Hall. Vir Fidelis!

After a passenger jumped overboard off of the Staten Island Ferry earlier this month, crew members immediately performed a heroic water rescue, saving the man's life. Today, I was proud to honor these remarkable crew members for their service alongside Staten Island Borough President Vito J. Fossella at Borough Hall!

Today, as we honor Juneteenth, we celebrate the liberation of the last enslaved Americans, the incredible resilience and contributions of Black Americans, and renew our commitment to achieving justice and equality for all who call this country home.

Throughout her nearly four decades with the NYC Parks Department, Borough Commissioner Lynda Ricciardone has never stopped working to improve our borough's green spaces. I was honored to attend her retirement party & thank her for her years of tireless service earlier this week!
