In Toronto #MapleLeafs history, there is one comeback win down 4+ goals entering the third period, in the regular and postseason, combined. Enter December 30 of 1989. Down 6-2 against Boston, the Leafs potted four in the final 20, and won 7-6 in OT with Wendel Clark's winner.

Fantastic query. We all know Albert Belle has the only season with 50 doubles and 50 homers, but how many even had 40 of each in the same season? There have only been 38 such player-seasons. Most recent: Arenado & Donaldson in 2015. First ever: George “Babe” Ruth in 1921.

Man, Tarik Skubal is like clockwork. Yesterday was his MLB-leading fourth outing with at least 7 shutout innings. He’s a huge part of why the Detroit Tigers are in first place. Sign up for the (free!) Baseball-Reference newsletter to get gems like this delivered right to your inbox.

The American League has been playing 162 games per season since 1961. These are the worst winning percentages in Major League Baseball over that span.

Today is only the second time in a 9-inning or fewer game the #Brewers allowed 18+ hits yet won the game in franchise history. The other was on July 7 in 1991, at Cleveland, in a 10-6 win. Milwaukee allowed 18 hits. Dan Plesac recorded a save to boot.
