2) Anyone with a brain knows this “mass infection” letting it rip approach of Boris Johnson is just lunacy & morally bankrupt. Not to mention #LongCovid to come. I’m not saying to do lockdowns—not a fan—but there’s so many mitigations to use to keep people safe & economy running.

3) And Boris and Sajid are throwing the elderly under the bus. Hospitalizations in the elderly 85+ in England are so high that they now exceed also the spring 2020 peak!

5) but what about #COVID19 deaths by the actual date of death? It is increasing as well. Though always be careful with actual dates of deaths — they are susceptible to a lot of delays and deaths are always being “backfilled” weeks later. But even now the death trend is obvious.

Why would CDC stop the mask mandate for air travel just when BA.2 is rising in the US? The only possible sense it would make is political sense. It makes no medical sense.
