Thank you so much to everyone at BBC The One Show and Topical Television for giving me the chance to tell my story. Thank you for all the positive feedback and your stories of loved ones who have suffered something similar. It’s nice to know we’re not alone. #StrokeAwarenessMonth

Revising a lot of NICE guidelines for upcoming SCE and seeing it all in black and white has blown my mind that GPs/community practitioners are supposed to be able to cover so much, for so many conditions, with individual patients in 10 minute appointments. How do you do it?!

To all Acute Medicine consultants/st7 reg. We are struggling to get sufficient interview panel members for Oct round. If you have not been asked by your local TPD or recruitment office please please nag them. They've been asked to share +++ SAM Online

Still recovering from having to turn out my pockets, roll up my sleeves, have my glasses inspected on a lazy susan and raise my hand for a drink of water to sit the SCE this week. #promiseimagrownup #doctoring

Dear Internet, this isn’t someone’s really early Halloween prep, it’s a mass of spiders’ webs that have appeared on a bush near our house over summer. Why has this happened? Can I do anything to prevent a spider invasion? Or shall I just look to move house now?

This is a brilliant listen! Brilliant discussion, agreed out loud in the car with so many points! Location of patient review, retrospectoscope, duty of candour, patient understanding, what we write in the notes, specialty respect.. 11/10, highly recommend!

Some of the wonderful Stroke MDT today at LGI promoting stroke awareness. Lots to find out about stroke prevention, management and rehabilitation from this lovely lot, and even a blood pressure check and chat if you like ⁦Leeds Teaching Hospitals⁩ ⁦Stroke Association⁩

Shameless plea Toby Tarrant for a retweet ahead of #WorldStrokeDay on Sunday, to increase awareness of our education stand in Leeds General Infirmary today run by our lovely Stroke Team. I’d defo overlook that time you said we do brain transplants live on the radio if you do šŸ¤žšŸ¼šŸ§

āš ļøOur Accident and Emergency departments are extremely busy.āš ļø You can help nurses like Tom care for those who really need it by only attending if your condition is life or limb-threatening.

At risk of causing rota coordinators across the land a small breakdown, 12 hour on calls in urgent care don’t feel sustainable if (when) this level of acuity and volume of admissions continues. Decision fatigue is hitting harddd #acutemedicine #medreglife

(3) I got way less bleeps & therefore spent way less time with on the phone Being visible in ED means that many bleeps get replaced by quick F2F questions: - does this patient need a monitor? - what’s the plan for bed 4? -did you want another bag of fluids for bed 9?

After a tough set of on calls, a genuine thank you to the lady in Tesco that wanted to see my ID before letting me buy a grown up drink today šŸø

Fairly depressing how many of the medical students in today’s OSCE said they would escalate to their registrar and see if *he* had any further advice or suggestions for them….
