Today was the official opening for the newly expanded NICU at QMC. The unit has been expanded from 17 to 38 cots and now has more family space, a dedicated bereavement suite and a dedicated teaching space and fully kitted out SIM area. 1/5

This development is only positive, enabling safer care for babies and improved experience for families. It will prevent babies and mothers from having to be transferred out of NUH and allow the smallest & sickest babies to be cared for in the right place with improved resources.
