Whenever I think of Godzilla Minus One, I keep coming back to this shot of this man's face. It just sums up the whole film to me, and how differently it lands on a human level. An unironic, egoless, hysterical reaction, recalling a thousand traumatic historical images.

Really really dug Rebel Ridge on Netflix. It felt like the closest thing to a “real-world” superhero story. Aaron Pierre is a star, and Jeremy Saulnier manages to do the cinematically unthinkable: Batman’s no-kill rule credibly depicted onscreen. #cinema #filmmaking
