Dr Taylor Dick and her colleagues pulled the literal rug out from under people’s feet – and measured how they respond to sudden changes in ground height. More on the #UQ-led research: bit.ly/2pa5hLK

Cool article on perceptual animation inconsistencies in journal club this week. Found myself going down the rabbit-hole but discovered a sweet tool on soft tissue animation (MoSh) from Michael Black. How many biomechanists use this? Emeritus Professor Julie Steele AM youtube.com/watch?v=Uidbr2…

Science hard, then play hard. CU Biomechanics intramural soccer team takes a 7-3 win (Civ. E. & Aerospace were good opponents). But there were casualties 😭. My trusty boots couldn't hang. Had them since '08. Nike any old Tiempos in storage you need to get rid of? #olderisbetter

Does your scientific writing include classic storytelling elements? I've found the papers that stick with me read like stories with a main character (hypothesis) who experiences dramatic tension and resolution.

I don't have a rubber ducky for debugging code, but Sackboy helps me edit comps. Does anyone else have a "work buddy" at their desk?

For Greta's birthday (and to destress from my comps studies), we went to visit cats at the humane society where we met Joseph. He's a cautious one, and liked to explore. But we think he… instagram.com/p/B8De_WMAGVvU…

Our very own @garebearbru will be teaching a tutorial on how to use GitHub for biomechanics collaborations and code reporducability with the Applied Biomechanics Lab's Ryan Alcantara. Congrats Gary and we look forward to learning from you!

Pitch of the week with Ross Wilkinson: The Journal of Mulligan, where authors can rewrite and resubmit their very first published paper (and only their first paper) after a set amount of time. Probably not an original idea, but curious to see who would be interested.
