Yet another insightful post-election analysis by one of the top thinkers on this platform. But I think we can go further: we should let Greenland and Siberia dictate the UN declaration of human rights. With all that barren land, it's unfair that they don't really have a say.

It's right there. It's literally in the middle of the picture. I've seen 10+ posts like this with 50k+ likes. Either I'm missing something obvious (they are still counting 15+ million votes?) or something is deliberately done to further demolish trust in US democracy.

Really suspicious that Usain Bolt set the 100m world record at 6.8 seconds, when all his other races before and after were closer to 10 seconds. Can anyone help me understand what I'm missing here?

What a weird way to present the debt burden. Interest payments as a share of federal revenue in fact look pretty stable over time, and it was much worse in the 80s under Reagan.

Hi #EconTwitter, I am on the Job Market! My primary fields are Labor, Migration, and Political Economy. My secondary fields are Macro and Growth. In my 1st JMP, I examine how the global spread of the Internet affects immigrants' socio-economic integration in the US.🧵

Should we be surprised about China's recent AI success? Patents have been off the charts for a long time. They currently have a ~60% larger R&D workforce than the US and educate 7x more engineers/year. Innovation success should be benchmarked against inputs, not biased priors.

Number of federal employees in the U.S. per capita over time – much ado about nothing? You can make adjustments here: fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/?g=1DfTM

Many countries give tax money to foreign aid. Sweden gives about 4x as much as the US. The US ranks only 34 out of 47 countries reporting data on this with an astonishingly low rate of 0.2%.
