I was wondering when Part 3 was coming. Love the shout out to “bilateral cellulitis.” The king of the quickest and most incorrect “source” of sepsis.

"Am I dying?" Patient asked me directly to my face. I'm usually uncomfortable with saying "Yes" or "No", and respond like "Your time is getting shorter..." But the other day, patient asked me this x3. I was not clear enough. 1/

Seeing how much the world accepts that it’s impossible to move on after watching CPR really makes me think about how we (medical professionals, especially those who work in Emergency departments) are expected to just move on immediately after a code.

Training the next generation of surgeons is one of our top priorities. Our General Surgery Residency Program (led by Dr. Karen Chojnacki) is currently training 21 talented women - nearly half of our resident physicians. 👏 #ILookLikeASurgeon #WomenPhysicianDay #gensurgmatch2024

Such a great first day. Dr. Rushton’s lecture on moral suffering and moral resilience was outstanding and inspiring. Excited for day 2! #aacn #moraldistress #nursingresearch #nti2023 #sepa

Congratulations and best wishes to @AMofidMD (right) on completing his very last call shift as a Jefferson Healthcare vascular surgery fellow with attending surgeon Michael Nooromid. Dr. Mofid will now be an attending surgeon in Michigan. 👏

This was published one year ago today. And as I continue to interview ICU NPs for my Ph.D work, I think about this commentary piece.

If there’s one thing I wish everybody knew about US healthcare, it would be the existence of pharmacy benefit managers. They are just as responsible for soaring drug prices as pharma, yet most people are oblivious to their actions. Truly incredible middlemanning effort by PBMs.

Roommate in hospital: “This is the third time they asked me if I want to sign a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order. I wish they would stop. I don’t want a DNR.” Repeated requests concerning a DNR order are ableist, coercive and harassment. No means no.

Outrageous. I finished a 26 hour reg shift this morning. I and everyone on my rota have to do this once a week, as a direct result of not having enough staff, chronically and by design. It is not fair on doctors and it is not safe for patients. You get what you pay for.
