Once the pearl-clutching over the budgetary impacts of this disastrous bill is behind us, millions will lose health insurance and nutrition assistance, the debt limit will be $5T higher, interest rates will move as the Fed sees fit, and lawmakers can hit the beach.

Embarrassed for every democrat who stood on the senate floor and confidently asserted that passage of the OBBBA means higher interest rates on home mortgages and auto loans.

I support EU commission target of 90% emission reductions by 2040. But, it must be fully delivered domestically. The proposal of allowing ”flexible” offsets (compensate failed reductions at home with investments abroad) is not aligned with scientific necessity, and thus a mistake

There is more nonsense being written about fiscal deficits at the moment than I can remember. We provide the periodic table of sectoral balances and monetary sovereignty & 'serious people' ignore or don't understand it. By misrepresenting fiscal issues they cause dreadful harm.

Why are we coming back to the UK for this event & probably more workshops? Because they are badly needed. Because almost nobody else is doing this. Because it is urgent to thrust our ideas into the narrative & somehow shift politics. We need you 12,13/9. modernmoneylab.org.uk/events/bristol…

We will probably run our Modern Money weekend again somewhere in the UK (outside London this time) in September. The recent London w/end sold out. If you are a political progressive but 'fiscal conservative', give me a weekend to change your mind on fiscal policy. I dare you.

Taking down climate assessment reports is the ultimate in don't look up moments from the Trump atastrophe and his facilatators and appeasers on both sides of politics.

Cameron is right about this and I don't see how anyone reasonable who doesn't have a prior bias and understands the money system could possibly disagree.

This was the White City Rethinking Capitalism weekend on 21st and 22nd June, with just a little #MMT thrown in. Also great fun, albeit in a furnace.

"Just a quick line to let you know how thankful I am for having had the opportunity to take part in the Finsbury Park event this last weekend. It was truly great on so many levels – indeed on every level." We will do it again in September, outside London this time. Come along.
