Brentford have never ended a single PL matchday lower than 16th. Brentford are one of only ten clubs with a +GD in an all-time Premier League table. Brentford have scored more PL goals than Man Utd since their promotion. Some mind-boggling numbers: football365.com/news/brentford…

I’m in Shanghai researching Ursula Kuczynski of the Hampstead Spies family and this is the hotel cafe where she met the woman who connected her to the kGB. My next updated ‘Atomic Spies’ guided walk for London Walks is on May 17. walks.com/our-walks/hamp…

But according to para 2.35 politicians could still present ‘current affairs programmes’. So no change to ‘Farage’ etc. Try to make sense of this: politicians cannot do ‘news interviews’ but they can do ‘current affairs interviews’ about the news of the day.

Stewart Purvis The exceptional editorial justification caveat seems completely pointless and a sure setup to another Ofcom day out at the High Court. A worthless change that still offers no definitive ruling on politicians presenting news content

July 11 2025 will be the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia when over 7,000 were killed. Bodies are still being found. This was the scene at the memorial today.

Fascinating trip to Bosnia where a ‘two state solution’ jigsaw was imposed by USA and the international community 30 years ago. Communities at war now living in tentative peace policed by European Union Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Supporters of Gaza here looking for parallels.

Still unsure how this is allowed on a “news & current affairs” Channel or programme. How can it be right that the “leader /owner” & sitting MP is allowed to push his own narrative as a presenter on a station or programme ? alan rusbridger Stewart Purvis 1/

New evidence that Ofcom’s plan to solve their GB News problem won’t work. They need to do what Parliament intended on impartiality . My submission with Chris Banatvala is at profpurvis.com.

Anybody looking back through the Instagrams previously posted and reposted by Bob Vylan, especially clips from their set at Coachella in California in April, would not have been entirely surprised by what they said at Glastonbury on Saturday.

Sandy Gall, who has died aged 97, had a brilliant reporting career at Reuters and ITN. I’ll never forget the day in 1991 when he called me to say, ever so modestly, that he had scooped the rest of the world’s media with the first report from Operation Desert Storm inside Kuwait.
