This point raised by Prof. Christina Pagel - @chrischirp.bsky.social resonates strongly with me. The highly skilled technical workforce in STEM subjects desperately needs more women and nonbinary scientists. I have been to my fair share of women-only academic panels and workshops. A 🧵.
I only realise now how much I associated industry fairs at conferences mostly with men in suits. As part of the CUWiP UK 2023 conference for undergraduate women and nonbinary physicists, we organised a job fair to showcase the wide spectrum of fascinating jobs available with #Physics
CUWiP is an annual conference to improve confidence, self-concept, and sense of belonging in undergraduate women and nonbinary physics students Prof. Christina Pagel - @chrischirp.bsky.social talks about and encourage them to persist with further studies and careers in physics.

I was lucky enough to help organise CUWiP2022 last year with the wonderful Dr Caroline Müllenbroich and Sarah Croke and see for myself what a difference it can make. I thoroughly recommend applying to attend if you can! Physics, University of Strathclyde Strathclyde Phys Soc
