P4-7 had a visit from the UK Parliament today. Philippa Mason (Senior Education & Engagement Outreach Officer) delivered an interesting and informative assembly about the UK Parliament and how it works.

Some of our P6 + P7 pupils took part in judo sessions with garioch judo

As part of our In-Service sessions our staff got outdoors with Philippa from Learning Through Landscapes and Urban Green Design, looking at ways we can use our outdoor environment to enrich our teaching and learning.

P6 + P7 are taking part in Rugby sessions with Eilidh from Garioch Rugby learning the key skills required for the sport.

Tom from Kooth was in to talk to the P6s and P7s about emotions and mental health.

Local Author Laura Meredith visited some of our p4 classes, sharing her book ‘Christopher’s New Home’. The children really enjoyed the story and talking about writing books.

All pupils at Strathburn created ‘World Book Day’ masks to share at our assembly. The reading pupil group arranged treasure hunts, bookmark competitions and lots of fun for everyone today!

Well done to everyone who participated in the Rotary Quiz last night, our teams had a great time. Thanks to the Inverurie Rotary and all of our families who attended.

Some of our P7 pupils participated in the Maths Challenge at Aberdeen University yesterday and created an excellent maths poster about ciphers and codes and competed in a variety of maths games.

Our P7 team took part in the Rotary Quiz Area Final and did a fab job! Some quality quizzing today, well done.

We have received our new Strawbees Classroom and Robotic Kit that was funded by a grant from Edinburgh Mathematical Society. Looking forward to using this with pupils soon. #thisisstrathburn

Our pupils and Parent Council collaborated to make our brilliant new banners for the outside of the school with the message of road safety.

Today we had professional Judo Player Kimberley Renicks in to challenge our pupils to a circuit challenge. She held an inspirational assembly talking about her career and being a professional athlete. The children had a fab time keeping fit and raising money for the school.
