Yesterday, DSS proudly supported our youth at the CPS Skilled Trades Event at the Carpenters Union! This event offers students valuable hands-on experience to help them explore careers in skilled trades and learn more about the opportunities available to them.

Yesterday the snow stopped just in time for the students from Our Lady of Guadalupe School to enjoy one of our Touch-a-Truck events. It provides children with an up close, hands on experience with one of our Refuse trucks that helps keep our city clean.

Over the past two days, the Mayor’s Office, DSS, CPS, LiUNA 1001, and HIRE360 hosted our second meet-and-greet with prospective Laborer Trainees. It’s always inspiring to connect with the next generation of talent ready to serve our city. Big thanks to all for making it happen!
