Disappointing to see the tone the mayor has chosen to take. The government has acted on the findings of a panel appointed by the last government. The government’s intervention is practical not political. Just like £136 million it loaned to the mayor this year.

Under Mayor Jason Perry’s watch, fly-tipping in Croydon is out of control. A vulnerable resident just home from intensive care can’t even open her window due to rotting waste left yards away for two weeks. No action. No urgency. No care. This hotspot needs signage & CCTV now.
